Complaints & Appeals

Complaints

Complaints about procedure, conduct, confidentiality, discrimination, conflicts, or editorial interference should identify the manuscript or publication and describe the issue with supporting information. Complaints are acknowledged, documented, and assessed by a person who is not directly implicated whenever feasible.

Appeals

An appeal must identify a significant factual, procedural, or ethical error in the decision. Disagreement with a reviewer’s academic judgement alone is insufficient. The appeal is examined independently where possible, and the outcome is final.
